Thin green vertical line, why?

there is a very thin vertical green line running top to bottom of the display, almost dead center. It doesn't seem software related, i.e. always there. It is more a nuisance than anything. How to determine cause, display, logic board, graphics interface etc. Apple wants $310 flat fee to diagnose and repair any problems

Call Apple back up, 1-800-275-2273, and tell them you believe this to be the NVIDA GPU Graphics Processor Issue on MLB, give them your serial number and request a shipping box. I've gotten one day service on the last two I sent in. This should be fully covered by Apple.

Don't let Apple tell you what's wrong, TELL THEM. Speak with authority like you know what you're talking about. This issue sometimes also involves the magsafe port and flex cable in case you're having any battery issues.

To check the GPU issue, hook it up to an external monitor and see if the problem persists. If it's gone, then it's not the GPU and you have problems with the cable, inverter board or LCD.
