I accidentally dropped my iPhone 6 in the toilet as it fell out of my back pocket. I wanted to know how many water indicators there are, and where they are located? Thanks.
Water damage is obvious regardless of the stickers. They will know that you switched the stickers.

Although since this person isn't an expert, I am assuming they would make driver marks on screws, mis-align the sensors, or forget to put something back in place. Making it obvious as you know.

Ok, I will edit. Water damage is obvious to an experienced technician--perhaps not to the high schooler working at the Verizon store. And yes, an experienced technician will likely be successful at defrauding a phone vendor. At the level of an individual, this is highly likely not to be successful.
Your confidence in the underhanded ability of your numerous associates to rob a business is a bit bold---I can only imagine what they can do with a tax return....

When refurbishing devices, if the component tests 100% working yet has a water damage sticker we replace it. It's called refurbishing and Apple does the same thing. No one in my organization would commit fraud for a phone that we can build in 25 minutes.
As far as trying to pass off a water damaged phone to Apple that is indeed water damaged, is beyond ignorant...and illegal. As far as my "associates" they are all companies who refurbish devices for big box retailers.

I don't want to switch stickers, my phone works fine and I'm keeping it. I was just curious so I could see for myself if any water got inside. The only issue I'm having is that the lower volume button doesn't work, but I can get around it by using the internal volume controls that come up when listening to something.
We see this a lot. We've repaired over 14,000 water damaged iPhones. Thanks for activator, and other workarounds that volume down isn't a big deal to lose.

Hello,
There are water sensors through out the iPhone 6. One in the headphone jack, one in the dock connection, as well as a larger sensor inside the phone on the logic board. There isn't a way to replace them without leaving minor tools marks that will show the screws have been used.

I've known over 50 people that can prove your comment to be false. Yes if you use metal tools and do a $@$*!& job then yes but if done correctly no one can tell.
I highly advise against this since it's unethical and deceptive but to each his own.

I was told by an Apple tech today that there are no water indicators/sensors anywhere on the exterior of the iPhone 6, he said they all are inside of the phone.

Guys relax, my phone works just fine, luckily. I just wanted to know so I could see for myself. That's all. No one is replacing anything.

I did the very same thing, pulled my pants down & in went my new iPhone 6. Thankfully I have insurance on it. But I immediately got it out of the water & turned it off. It was a couple of hours before I could get any rice to put it in. I left it in rice for about 8 hours & then I put it in a Baggie with silica packs for another 8 1/2 hrs. I never turned it on. I then put a small fan blowing on it. I called Apple before I took a chance & turned it on. I was informed by the Apple tech that there are no water indicators on the exterior of this phone. The only ones are inside & I didn't want to open it up & he told me not to. So he told me since it had been about 27 hrs to turn it on while he was on the phone with me. It powered on & so far so good. Working perfectly! I just hope it didn't do any damage in the long run but only time will tell. Just wanted everyone to know that he said there are no exterior water indicators on the iPhone 6.

Correct, none are on the exterior. They are however inside the headphone jack and inside on the logic board. A water damage sensor on the exterior of the phone would be silly.

Like Ligers+Abound, I wanted to see for myself if I did any damage to my phone. I guess I should have clarified my answer. The Apple tech told me there are no water sensors that you can see from the exterior of the iPhone 6, he said they are all inside. I can see inside the headphone jack with a flashlight & magnifying glass. So if you are correct, then my phone has no damage, everything in there is white. And Ligers+Abound, you are welcome :)
So far my phone is working & it's been 3 days now.

Just wanted to update about my iPhone that I dropped in the commode. It's been 6 weeks & it's working perfectly--THANK GOD! I have since put it in a Lifeproof case, they are rather expensive but it's water proof, dust proof, snow proof, shock proof, and you can drop it for 6 to 8 ft. with supposedly no damage. What else could I possibly do to my phone that I love so much?!! I dodged a bullet that time so hopefully with this case & me being more careful, I can keep this one for a long time.

While water damage sensors on the outside would be silly to tell one if there were drops of water on the outside. . . NOT SILLY, if they told you whether water had actually gotten into the phone. The screen wouldn't let me power down the phone & I have no idea the extent, if any, of potential water damage. Now I'm just trying to see if the phone is dry enough. Apparently everything is still functional EXCEPT the screen.
BTW, Apple certainly makes enough in mark up on all of these phones to 1) pay their sweatshop workers more & 2) to throw in a free phone, even if it is something as stupid as water damage. . . . I would gladly pay as much as I did for my 6 if they could engineer a water-tight design. They can make money of the replacement phones of other stupid things.. . .

Harsh. Water damage stickers really aren't that great for determining if your phone is actually water damaged--open it up and look for corrosion near edges of board. The stickers are really only relevant for fraud.
