After replacing the Display assembly the home button does not work

I have used the iPhone 5 Display Assembly with Home Button and Front Camera (link) for an easy exchange of my cracked screen.

After putting everything together without a problem I discovered that everything is working just fine BUT the home button. It is not reacting at all and without the home button the iphone is pretty useless.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thank you!

yes this is what I thought too. Thats a bit frustrating though since I bought it as an assembly to avoid unnecessary fumbling but it seems to be the fastest solution. Thanks for the help.
