Home button not working after disassembly

Hey guys,

I just replaced the dock connector in my iPhone 3G (because my mic was broken) pretty sure thats fine now, since my mic and speakers are working.

But since putting it back together my home button doesn't respond anymore. Any ideas?

I felt I might have tugged on the number 3 ribbon cable as I was taking it apart, if I broke that would that be causing this problem?

Any help appreciated, thanks in advance

Oh, just realized that my external speaker doesn't work (the earpiece works fine)

Also read that the '3' connector controls the earpiece and the proximity sensor, both of which are working fine.

check the dock connector cable nr. 4 (reseat it)- also check the contact springs of the home button - maybe the are bent and do not reach the contacts on the dock connector
