Why aren't the buttons working?

The number 7 button on my phone doesn't work. The button still feels like the other buttons do, but nothing appears on the screen when I'm typing a phone number or text message. It even makes the same clicking noise.

A button not working as intended can be a result of dirty inners or broken parts. If the inside is dirty, that gunk and whatnot can interfere with the buttons pressing as intended. In extreme cases, it is imaginable this could cause a complete block of button inputs. Its also possible part of the button circuitry has broken within. In this case, the buttons will need to be replaced. To note, the number pad you physically press only activated the button circuitry below it. The button circuitry will need to be replaced. See the trouble shooting page for more information on this.
