Would the Battery of the 15" Unibody MacBook (A1281) fit into the 13" Model (A1278) when there's no HDD installed (and no brackets which normally hold the HDD in place)?
Connector should be the same. Question is the length, etc.?

I don't care about the parts catalog, I was rather asking if anyone tried! There's a little border of a few millimetres between the battery and the HDD. Shouldn't be hard to get rid of it with a Dremel if necessary...
Then rephrase your question... go for it and let us know how that turns out- only a special kind of person would take a Dremel to a new battery and silicone it in place cause the brackets/screws don't line up.
