Volume rocker faulty - Cant put volume up or down. Any ideas?

Hi,

The button itself seems to be working but whatever is connecting to the motherboard must be faulty.

The phone is bricked and i need to used the volume rocker to get the phone into download/recovery mode?

Any idea what i would have to change and how i would change it?

Options

Check in your settings. Under accessibility> scroll down where it says; Turn off all sounds; and make sure the box is unchecked. Other than that, try replacing volume button, or resetting your phone, by starting it over or resetting it to factory settings.
