The computer won't power on, fans will run for a few seconds.

After leaving unplugged for awhile, I can turn the power on, but only the fans will run for a few seconds. After this nothing will happen after the power button is pressed. Is this the sign of a bad power supply? If not, how can I further diagnosis it?

Answer this question I have this problem too

I ended up replacing the power supply. I got the part and most of the tools from here and it fixed my problem. Thanks a bunch iFixit!

Try an SMC reset - unplugging it killed the backup battery... when that happens strange behavior can result.
