Sadly your system presently does not have the ability to support Handoff. I would also point out the needed work just to get to the bluetooth board is quite extensive! Review this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Unibody Model A1278 Bluetooth Board Replacement.

I would strongly recommend you monitor this site: Continuity Activation Tool And I'm sure other sources will pop up as well that might offer a solution if it is possible.
