Screen Replacement problem - Phone will boot until it's snapped in

I dropped my iPhone 5s and the glass and lcd shattered. Luckily I had another 5s that had a bad charging port so I decided to swap the good screen and glass from it to the broken one. The swap went fine, with tutorials I found online. I kept all the screws for the "cable plate" where they should go and I know I got all the ribbon cables plugged in snug. Before I put it back to together, I powered it on and viola, it works great. The problem is when I go to snap the screen assembly back into the shell/bottom phone assembly, the phone will no longer turn on after it's snapped back in. I've troubleshot it down to where I get the two peices snapped in all except the right side (looking at the front) it stays powered on but then when that right side snaps in, the phone turns off, so it's something on that right side that's causing it to short or is pressing against something maybe? Both phones are orignal Apple hardware, all OEM. Any ideas from you guru iPhone repairs guys/gals?
