Stuck Moving In A Direction (DPad?)

So for some reason my 3DS is stuck moving in the downward direction. I don't think it's the circle pad because I was able to calibrate it just fine. The second I do anything on the open menu or in-game, it tries to force me down again. It literally just happened randomly without any drops or liquid/physical damage to it. I tried doing the toothbrush trick and I also gutted the thing and used rubbing alcohol on the DPad's connection points. I even blew out all the individual pieces of the DPad with a pressurized air can. After putting it back together, it still has the problem. If it's any help, it did seem to happen fairly close to when I first played Super Smash Bros, although I'm not sure it's relevant. Any ideas?
