New lcd screen shorts out when top edge is pushed in.

Hi, I've been doing iPhone repairs on the side for a year now. I can usually get through my road blocks with some research, but I've tried everything related to this issue and none have worked.

When I go to press the new lcd into the chassis/frame (whatever you call it) when the repair is complete, the screen turns off, probably shorting out, when the the top edge is pushed against the phone. I assumed there must be some exposed metal somewhere on the screen. I have tried covering things up with electrical tape but it has not helped. I can't seem to find the exact point of contact that is causing the short. If any one can give me some more ideas, let me know. So far, I've tried covering the little strips of metal on the flex cable and the 3 connectors.

It could be a bad ribbon connection. Do you have an LCD that you know for sure works to test with? Sometimes the pins on the ribbons are bent and won't fully connect.
