How can I re-boot my hard drive?

I recently bought a new Macbook pro and tried connected my WD hard drive to it and the WD hard drive just stopped working. could you tell me what the issue could be or how to troubleshoot the problem.

Options

Do you have a powered USB hub? One that has a plug in AC transformer. If you do try plugging in the HD into it and then plug the hub into your system. Does the drive spin up and are you abler to access the drive?

If yes, your USB ports power feed has a problem. The power lines do a a fuse link that can burnout of the load is to much for it.

As you didn't tell us the model of your MacBook Pro your system may not be able to support the drives load if you have an older model.
