Why is my Dell Laptop Inspiron N4110 mouse freezing?

I have a dell insprion N4110 its a 64bit and it got 4gb ram, i have intel core i3 and 2.20ghz i guess you can say it's a bit old maybe 3/4 years ? Though my mouse keeps freezing and i don't know why i barely have any programs on it i only use it for school homework other than that I don't use it. I have no viruses and I do a disfragmentation all the time so it is in a good condition. The problem is I need to change my battery soon because it is no longer good so i just use it with my plug on i don't think that has anything to do with the mouse. Could it be because it is old?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Have you checked to see if there is an updated driver? Also, power cord and bad battery can cause a number of issues including erratic mouse movement, screen flickering, failure to post etc.
