squares on the screen after battery replacement

Hello everybody.

I recently got an iphone 5s with a broken screen. I ordered a screen online and replaced it. It worked perfectly well except the proximity sensor that was not switching off when calling.

After a quick search online I managed to find the issue and I decided to order a new battery as well as I though mine was not lasting long.

I received the battery yesterday and opened the phone again, I replaced the proximity sensor and changed the battery of the iphone.

When I reassembled the phone and turned it on, I had some squares displaying on the top of the screen.

I though it was because the display connector was not properly connected, so I disconnected it and reconnected it. When I turned the phone on again, the squares are still showing up.

I took a photo of the screen displaying the square, you can see it here http://postimg.org/image/h7kq92sy3/

Hi,

It is either the screen is not connected correctly or it is a faulty LCD, I would try and clean the connectors first with 99.9% isopropyl alcohol, and then reconnect the screen, if this does not work then I would try a new screen. :-)

It's the screen. The connector is not fully making contact with its connector. When putting the connector down, run your finger from let to right to ensure all the pins are making the connection. You should hear 2-3 clicks

Thanks guys. I had the same issue after I did a battery change. I went back in after reading this and found glue debris from the battery was in the digitiser connector.

I pulled out the glue and put it back together. The squares are gone.

Check the connector on the left of the 3. It's long and skinny. If it's not connected properly it can get worse, like heaps of vertical pin stripes.

Thank you for this! Inspired to take the cover off for one last time 6th time) and found a micro speck of dust on one of the teeth of the digitiser connection. Blew it off, pressed all connections back on very hard and bingo - back to full normal screen.
