Charges and plays but Windows (XP and Vista) won't recognize

Have an iPod Video 60gb that plays fine and charges on USB and wall plug. Neither Windows (XP or Vista) or Itunes will recognize. Have tried all the Apple diagnostic steps. I know the cable is good because Windows recognized an iPhone attached using the same cable. What do I need? ;>(

Sounds like it's formatted for Mac instead of PC, see this kb article which will explain how to check and how to reset/reformat.

Thanks...but no it's formatted for Windows

I have tried getting it into disk mode...it will but windows still doesn't see it (it charges though!) Since I know the USB ports and cables are good, I assume it's in the connecting port, yes? Is the only fix a logic board replacement?

Does it charge when connected to a computer?

by

Yup...computer and on the wall with an adapter.
