Totally black screen after lcd replacement, not backlight

I replaced a cracked lcd and digitizer on and ipad min hd. I was careful to remove battery and not reconnect until the new screen was in place but after fitting it's totally dead.

I read posts on backlight issues but there seems to be nothing on screen at all. It still boots as I can see it in iTunes and it beeps when charging but the screen is completely dead, I've tried 2 now with the same results..

When I plug the old cracked screen in there is light and colour but it's too damaged to show an image.

What components should I be testing? And if possible replace

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hello shine a bright light on the lcd can you see any images? If not and the old screen is showing backlight and colours then it's a faulty lcd you received

Are you sure they're retina lcd's? If they're the standard lcd they probably won't work on the retina ipad mini 2, the screen connectors are the same for both screens.

it is possible you have blown the fuse to the lcd backlight... it can be repaired but it is very difficult..but can be done .. try google " backlight repair ipad mini"

He says he tried with the old cracked screen and got light and color. So it must be a bad LCD. Connector not seated or deffect LCD.
