Repaired face and now no signal

I broke the face of my iPhone 4S and immediately switched to another phone until I fixed the iPhone. I have followed all the instructions, all connections are in place, but when I turn on the phone, the "searching" signal does not go away. This phone has not been activated yet, so I can't get to the setting page on the phone. My iTunes doesn't even register the phone. All I get once the phone is up and running is the main welcome page "Hello slide to setup", choose a language, select country, and then it goes to "choose a wifi network". No wifi networks come up to choose from. I search for my home wifi and it doesn't find it. I connect to iTunes, and it doesn't register the phone. I have gone over my steps many times, including rechecking the antennas. I have also taken out and replaced the sim card many times. HELP!

Even if your standing beside the Internet hub does it not find a network?

Have you tried replacing the battery? Does it have the IMEI number? You can check that by locking and then unlocking the screen, and on the slide to set up screen press the little circle with an "i" in it. If it doesn't have the circle, or it doesn't show the IMEI number, i'm afraid you have a baseband problem, but first of all, i would try with the battery, and if that doesn't work, do a full restore in iTunes in DFU mode (google for how to enter DFU mode on an iPhone if you're unfamiliar with that)
