Startup freezes on a black screen with small blue and red boxes

For MacBook Pro model number MA895LL/A

The blue and red boxes go diagonally across the screen. The computer will not allow me to start up in other modes or get to the boot setup menu.

I think its the graphics card, but can not find a replacement.

Any ideas?

There are no replacement GPUs

if that's what you're asking. The GPU might be shimmed, reflowed or re-balled...otherwise you'll have to replace the logic board.

Your machine has the Nvidia video chip. Hook it up to an external monitor. If the problem persists Contact Apple and get a free replacement logic board. Here's where to contact them: http://www.apple.com/support/contact/pho...

Here's the issue: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377

If they give you any problems go to this web site: http://www.nvidiasettlement.com/
