My camera switches to video setting on its own while taking pic?

My sony cybershot dsc-hx200v keeps switching to the video format automatically while I am trying to take a picture!! I bought this about 1 1/2 years ago so it isn't that old...could it be a bad battery?? I don't notice it losing its charge faster than normal but I don't use it daily either....any idea why the settings just jump around on its own like that?? Thanks!
