After replacing the battery, iPod won't turn on.

I bought an iPod that won't turn on. When plugged into a firewire charger, the Apple icon comes on briefly then switches to the battery warning icon.

Battery Warning Icon

It cycles this icon on and off about every ten seconds or so. I replaced the battery but it's behavior hasn't changed. Any ideas as to what's going on?

Answer this question I have this problem too

I've tried a few more things. I've used a USB cable to plug in the iPod to my MacBook Air but the screen doesn't come on at all and my computer doesn't recognize it. I've also tried a car charger, but that didn't register any response, either. I don't have a computer with firewire, so I can't test that scenario. I've also tried to reset the iPod (by holding the Menu and Select buttons) while it's plugged in and showing the battery warning icon, but that hasn't registered any response. Is it possible I got a bad battery from iFixit?

I have the same problem. Purchased a new battery back in 2014 from iFixit. Installed it with no success. Contacted iFixit and received a battery replacement. Still doesn't turn on. Screen briefly displayed a battery warning symbol, but nothing else. I'm wondering if I have a hard drive failure, but would like to know for sure before purchasing a replacement.
