Samsung 840pro into Mid 2007 iMac (iMac7,1)?

Has anyone else installed a Samsung 840 Pro into a mid-2007 iMac (the iMac7,1 intel-core-duo).

I read the detailed steps listed in the forum here (at Installing SSD in iMac Mid 2007) and was wondering if the steps were *exactly* the same.

Even though there are images and movies about attaching the Heat Sensor on the SSD, I'm not clear how it attaches. Is it attached with 2-sided tape? The instructions say you can put tape "over" it, to hold it on, but I can't find anything about how it is supposed to attach to the SSD.

Also, I would like to know if anyone has a suggestion for a bracket or adapter that they know definitely works for the Samsung 840 Pro, going into the mid-2007 imac.

Thank you.

Why are you going with a SSD solution here. A better option would be a SSHD hybrid drive Like a Seagate SSHD. I think it would server you better.

In any case here's how to do the SSD:

You need to remove the clip from the HD as well as the sensor. As to how to secure it to the SSD, all you need to do is glue the clip down. I would use some 3M tack glue to hold the clip to the SSD then the sensor is clipped in with tape to hold the sensor to the clip. As to the needed 2.5" to 3.5" adapter One thats like this one would work: Vantec Dual 2.5" to 3.5" Hard Drive Mounting Kit
