stuck battery-installed wrong end first

I replaced my battery, but I accidentally stuck the wrong end (the one close to the release buttons) in first. Now the battery is stuck half in. I've tried pulling the release buttons back and pulling up (i.e. away from the bottom of the computer), but it seems stuck. How do I remove the battery without breaking anything?

You could bring the machine to an Apple Store and ask a Genius to look at it.
