Can't boot. Chimes, screen stays black. Tried swapping HD.
I can't get my PowerBook g4 12" to boot. It turns on, chimes, and then does nothing. The screen never turns on.
Previously, I had been able to boot by holding the 'D' key, but that no longer works.
I've tried various other boot combinations. However, I don't think they are having any effect. For example, when I reset the PRAM it doesn't reset the computer (doesn't chime a second time).
Tonight I have tried the following:
-Swapping the hard drive
-"Repairing" hard drive in another machine via Disk Utility
-Booting from install DVD (Doesn't spin up, spits the disk after a couple minutes)
-Pulling extra RAM
Is there anything else I should try, or do I have an "ex-PowerBook"?
Is this a good question?

Mayer, I don't have an external monitor so I can't test that at the moment. However, I did a little more poking around and I don't think it's a video issue. The reason I don't think it's video is that the fan and hard drive are not spinning up at all. I didn't realize that yesterday before I posted, as I had put the top cover back on and I couldn't tell for sure.
