Why won't my Samsung galaxy Mega turn on after screen replacement?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 SGH-i527 and I had the LCD screen/ digitizer replaced. After that the phone won't go past the Samsung galaxy mega logo screen, it won't go into recovery mode but will go into download mode. Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I have tried the deal, boot with old screen then swap em out. My replacement still won't light up. Only thing I have seen work so far was just the back light came on, but still nothing else. Is there any other "tricks" to try?

by

You need to pull battery then power on with old screen and let it fully power about 10 minutes wait till the screen dims and goes off that's when you disconnect and after market one mines works every time. I have everything on the new screen I just pull the back cover and get my own screen Connect with ribbon power on and wait till it dims goes off then I just connect ribbon back being careful that I don't hit the power button or volume button just keep the screen off till you connect to my he screen. Works everytime.

Okay, I just tried this method and all I can get on the new screen is the back light. I do have a little trouble getting the flex to "clip" down. Could that be a problem? Or is it a defective screen? Too many questions, never enough answers...

Are you sure you have the correct model screen for your phone? Compare the new and old screen together make sure you check if the connectors are the same too

You have to turn the phone on with the old screen still plugged up you then unplug the old screen while the phone is still on and you plug the new screen in and there you go it works perfect you just have to install it with the phone on

Try to get root the phone to see if it's the problem of firmware.

Hi.. im using mega 6.3 and its working perfectly but im just bothered because the four edges of my screen is overlapping from the phone itself.. for me it looks way more cooler because it has sharp edges than the roundy shape of the usual ones..but I just really want to know if my screen is normal or this is a replacement screen..thanks in advance..

you need orginal screen to work in new version 4.4.2

if you can't find orginal lcd you can downgrade your software version to 4.2.2

Mine doesn't even work with the old screen. Still showed my background after the crack, then swapped it over and won't power on in either phone at all now. I fix a ton of megas and have never run into this problem until my personal one got destroyed....

Seems that if you have a replacement screen in the mega it will boot loop solution is to power in with the old screen and after it powers on connect the new one and it works! Well done hats where I'm at now dunno if the phone will reboot again I haven't even attempted it yet! I'm letting the battery fully charge and hope fully I can install root and custom recovery! I have the mega i527 AT&A variant 6.3. So if anyone can link me to a working custom recovery for this model i527 I would really love appreciate it. Thanks a mil
