SDcard became unrecognizable in phone & adapters, memory recoverable?

I dropped my phone and the MicroSD card came unmounted (phone gave me message) so I took the card out and put it back in, no change, phone did not recognize it. Then put the SDcard into an adapter for a PC and the PC did not recognize the card either. Can I still recover the memory on the card or is it lost?

You may be able to access the data with third party recovery software. . . DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WRITE ANYTHING ON THE CARD.

The best practice would be to clone that card via the recovery software onto a backup drive of some sort and recover from there.

Good Recovery software is not cheap. . . the cheap stuff gives you what you pay for (not much).

I work from Mac OS and I like Data Rescue 3. Or Speed tools for DOS formatted volumes.
