Does the Mid 2013 battery will give a 12 hours battery?

Hello,

I saw that the mid 2013 macbook air battery was compatible on the mid 2012 macbook air.

My question was, does this battery gives the mac a 12 hours battery life? or it just extend a little bit the original 7 hours battery life?

Best Regards

Antoine

There is two sides of the picture here: the Amperage of the battery and the amount of power the given system needs.

Sadly the slightly larger battery won't give you that much of an improvement. It's the logic within the system that makes the bigger difference here. The new Haswell CPU series pulls less power than the older CPU's.

If you don't need a new battery leave well enough alone.

After doing some theoretical calculations, your MBA at 7hrs uses approx 978mAH (of course this would be variable upon what you use it for). So with a 2013 Battery values at 54.4W/Hr at 7.6V the net gain would be about 30minutes. I do realize this will be 100% of the battery storage used, which the MBA will not let you since it will shut off way before that. But the same would hold true for any one of these batteries. Far off from a 5hr gain
