Randomly Locks up, reboots after a quick sound beep

If device has been off for a few days it will run about an hour before it makes a quick beep and reboots. It will then go into a boot loop until its turned off for a while. If its been running same thing but faster/more frequently. Apple hardware check at startup ends in a reboot as well. This sounds heat related but the tear down for the device is daunting. Any ideas on where to start?

I would download a temperature & fan monitoring app like Temperature Gauge. Pro that should give you the needed insight on why your system is rebooting if it's heat related. Frankly, your system is so new I find it hard to believe that is the root issue.

Do you have a second Mac? If you do can you setup your iMac in target mode and access it from the other Mac? Try that and see if you can run Apple's Disk Utility repairing the disk and disco permissions.
