After Battery Replacement, How Can I tell if the battery is connected?

I recently purchased a battery for my iPod touch and I wanted to know how can I tell if its working property before sealing the iPod? I don't know if this helps but when plugged into the wall the iPod will light up but once unplugged it will die. Take a note that the Digitizer, Glass, and Frame are all not currently connected?

since there are only 3 contacts - it shoulld be easy to see if they are soldered to the logic board or not - the only thing you should take care of is metal frame near the contacts - don't shorten this one with the battery contacts. a new battery isn't fully charged - so charging is necessary.

check the soldering points and everything should be ok

Yes, I am sorta familiar with this but Soldering, Not really. The contacts appear to be connecting but not perfectly but the soldering gun isn't melting the solder to the point where it can not be moved again.

So I am worried.

Is there anyway to test the battery function before putting the iPod back together?

"soldering gun" sounds way to large for that, you have to be careful not to shorten the battery while soldering it onto the board. i use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the battery
