Do I need more glue/adhesive to reassemble the display assembly?

I need to disassemble my iPod touch 4th Generation to tighten a couple of screws around the headphone jack. You need a heat gun to soften the adhesive to remove the display assembly. When I reassemble it, do I need to add more adhesive to stick the screen back on? Will the original adhesive still be sticky enough to glue the screen back on? Do I need to heat the display assembly again? If I need more adhesive, will sticky double sided tape work? Would I need to remove the original adhesive, and how would I do that?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Sometimes it will work, but i usually use some goofoff to take old adhesive off and use the new adhesive that comes with the screen

As it's not a new screen goin in, you can buy the adhesive online for pennies.

I wouldn't re use it, especially with the little ammount used at the top.

but what I did use for my own as a trial was silicone, its flexible still not brittle, and is easy to remove if youneed to open it up again. And it's not lifted in the year that ive had it.

Im talking a small ammount applied with the flat head screw drivers you get with the kits.
