Why did my home button stop working?

Ever since I replaced the charging port and flex ribbon, the home button stopped working. Did I lose or damage a piece? If so, what is/are the piece(s) called to that I can order and replace?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Had the same problem after a battery change

Found that gold ribbon on left and black main ribbions white line where not aligning with gold line on board

Going straight in was not working

Going in at a slight angle with a push and a wiggle

Got all lines aligning

Hope this helps

Hard for me to recall. I think that the home button ribbon plugs into the charging port on that one. So you may just need to make sure they are plugged in all the way.

I noticed the same thing. I found the fix if interested still. There is a little piece that you have to put back under the plastic tab connected to the USB part. It must get connected back to the other connector part hidden under the plastic casing (tab).

This one was an easy fix for me.

The connection to the mainboard is where the problem is.

There is a line eitherside of the ribbon cable, make sure the mark on the ribbon cable lines up with the ones either side.

Okay, so I had the same problem. Only the back and open apps buttons worked. Went back in and realigned lines on the ribbon cables with the lines on the circuit board and BAMM, the home button works..

Do not push the ribbon all the way in, stop a little before the white line. If you push it too far it will not make proper contact with the connector. ;)

Under the plastic framework at the bottom, where the micrphone ribbon goes, there is a tiny rectangular connector from the home button, another ribbon. This connector plugs into the end of the ribbon that has the microphone from your new charging port.

Does anyone have a picture of the connector? On mine the leftmost pins seem to be missing after sending it in for a battery replacement (Note Pro), and now the home button doesn't work anymore . Charging is intermittent.
