Why does my display draw four windows on the screen!?

I replaced the lcd panel in my mac with one I had from a Toshiba, The display workd and turns on looking good then the initial white mac screen goes away the screen flashes goes blank then comes back up as a 2x2 grid of my screen. ie it draws four windows of equal size and they are clones. I dont know I could not find anything remotly similar online anywhere. I think I just need to get an apple display but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts of ideas about it.
