Repaired lcd now speakers wont work

I took my HTC apart and transplanted everthing to a new lcd. While testing the phone before i put the back cover on all works except all the speakers (but the headphones still work). I'm wondering if the speakers need the rear cover to make a full connection and work. Any help before I put the cover on and find out I have to take it apart again?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Tcobra.. I am at that exact same problem. Did you find out any new info? I had the same thoughts about the back plate since the boards have the small gold prongs that look to contact the rear housing.

I did. I cut out all the clips on the backing so i could do some experimentation and as soon as i pressed them together the top speaker came back. (both for music and phone calls) The bottom speaker and wifi antenna still don't work so im hoping with a new backing and being clipped in, all the connections will work again. hope that helps.

I fixed the top speaker also. I found that the top board wasnt all the way down i found a small clip near the top that i failed to get it underneath when installing. After getting that rite, the top speaker made connection with the board and played. As far as the bottom, nothing yet.
