Charging power without usb connector

Since my Slate 7 USB connector broke and a new one is expensive, I am looking for a solution to load the tablet direct on the motherboard/battery.

Is it as simple as to connect power to the red and black connectors near the battery?

Danny Wrona, most likely not. you need to remember that your Slate's battery also provides feedback to our tablet. It tells it when to charge and how much to charge etc. Just applying power somewhere close to the charging port will not allow this and most likely will not be successful
