My iPhone 5/5s Cracked during repair

during repair, the iphone doesn't fit completely in the top (second image) and when I try to push in the iphone in, it cracks (seen in first image) why does this happen? is there any way to fix this? It happens on both 5 and 5S

The screen will fit if the frame is square---assuming it is a quality part.

I've had that happen on the first 5S I did. Every time after that I really try to press the bottom of the phone into the top of the frame as I'm fitting it---never happened again.

It's important to make sure all four corners are shaped correctly for the screen to fit, as they are often bent when the phone has been dropped. There are tools for shaping them (G-tools for example). A file can be sufficient sometimes.
