proximity sensor, ear speaker, speakerphone, vibrator not working
I replaced the broken screen with a new one, removing it with a suction cup that unexpectedly was too powerful and disconnected 1-3 completely (without the careful use of a spudger).
Since we reassembled, the proximity sensor and ear speaker are not working. But also, the speakerphone and vibrator are not working.
Cable number 3 does not look broken.
I don't know if this is significant, but the disassembly video we watched as prep for taking apart the phone showed prying UNDER the silver frame, which we followed. This pushed the microphone out of place, which we pushed back down (and it is working). Could this have played a part in damaging something else?
Did we totally damage the logic board or something? Should I give up and get a new phone?
Is this a good question?

Had an engineer friend fix the vibrator (it was bent), and he determined that a connection's soldering was messed up around the bottom.
So, my new question is if the two speakers stem from the same connection at some point (i.e., if that broken connection we saw is the root of the problem for BOTH speakers).

maybe we should start with identifying the broken part, maybe there is more damaged in that area.
a great photo of the logic board is here: http://www.eetasia.com/IMAGES/EEOL_2008J...

The solder that is broken is on the the data port piece (whatever it's called) on this link: http://www.sw-box.com/iPhone-3g-Data-Con.... It would be the top left of the four really noticeable solders in the image (or bottom left if holding the phone upright).
Could that be the cause of neither speaker working? Could I get someone with a steady hand to gently resolder the connection?
P.S. Thanks for the help. :)

I think it would be the best to let a professional look at it. maybe you find someone from your area/country here on ifixit. i can't so it, sure i could - but i'm from germany ;-)
