started up, for about 5 seconds, then shuts off.

I have a 2.2ghz MacBook Pro, Core 2 Duo. No Battery. I have 1 45w Magsafe Power Supply. I did the 10 second trick. It finally started up, for about 5 seconds, then shuts off. I tried swapping the ram too. Any suggestions? Is it because im only using 45w? I just was hoping that it would run before I dumped money into a new battery and new 80w-85w power supply. Thanks, Mark

Options

Sadly, you'll need to either get a battery or a new power adapter. Even the lower wattage adapter will slowly charge the battery (if given enough time) to at least test your system (not recommended for long term usage).

The load is to great for the low wattage adapter to sustain the system once the HD kicks in.
