Why is my 3.5mm socket/jack loose/broken?

Plugged 3 pairs of earphones in. Sound isn't working properly. I have to move the earphone plug around to hear the music fully. No lint recovered from the socket/jack. Why is this happening? Is it fixable?

at first - here is the teardown, as you can see in step 5, the socket is on the bottom right corner - there are 4 soldering points - one of those could be damaged, it's also possible that the ribbon cable is faulty - there are ways to fix this without a new part. but i would first check the part for any damages

it's also possible that there was a fluid damage - is the indicator inside the socket red ?

I have been told that wrapping 1/4” copper tape around the pin will slightly beef up the pin width, making the contact with the jack phones snug enough to solve the problem? Has anybody else tried this successfully?
