Why is my MacBook crashing after RAM upgrade

dear Sir,

i purchased the RAM upgrade kit for my MACBOOK A1181, and replaced both RAM without issues.

On the first reboot i got the chime but the screen stayed black.

Eventually, i managed to see the apple logo but after a very short while, i got a screen with report log of a crash and a message requesting that i reboot the computer.

I took pictures of the screens if you want.

I reverted to the old RAM and everything went back to normal.

I think the chips sold are not compatible with the MACBOOK.

Could you provide support please?

Can you tell us who's RAM you used and the specs of the modules so we can be sure you got the correct ones.

With your original modules in place check the firmware level see if it needs an update. Follow this Apple TN: EFI and SMC firmware updates for Intel-based Macs.

Sadly, your MacBook also has a limit of how much RAM it can support, it can not exceed 2GB.

The limit is based on the CPU's memory address lines. The Core 2 Duo CPU have more and can address more memory unlike your Core Duo CPU.
