How can I make the home button work?

I am fixing an iPad screen and I accidentally pulled up the logic board connector for the home button.

This is the only way the home button will function, does anyone know how to reattach this connector? The old one also seems to be broken. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

it can be replaced---but sometimes it can hard to find that part. If yours is broken, then you'll need to replace it with one that is intact. Don't try superglue or conductive pen or any of that nonsense. If you have trouble sourcing the part or need to send out for a microsolder job feel free to click my name to find your way to my shop. I know I have a donor iPad 4 board that still has the home connector on it.

Is that the only option? I want to be able to do this myself if possible.

If you've pulled the connector off you're not going to be able to do it yourself unless you can solder (don't quote me on this) I don't fix iPads but when when I've dacidentally pulled off weak connectors I can always resolder them. i.e. iPhone 4/4s battery connector is held on by 4 very weak solder points.

i can solder, but I've never done anything that small before.

that's what I mean, the points are so small it's very hard to do. I got a load of old RROD xboxes and used to use them for practice
