Changed home button, display. Still not working properly!

Hi! Just changed my home button the other day cause it stopped working/responding. Ordered a original button, but the display I ordered from eBay......from china! And now afterwards the button doesn't feel right, feels like it getting stuck under the display, and you get a weird sound when you push it! We had a hard time to get the button where it should be, tried several times but couldn't get it right. Wondering if it could be the eBay display....

Hi Hampus,

It sounds to me like the home button is not installed correctly. I have never experienced that the hole on the screen for the home button was too small. Typically the home button slots right into the hole.

First of all, I would take the screen off and 'dry-fit' the button in the screen to ensure that it actually fits - which i suspect it will.

Have you changed the plastic part of the home button? If you have, please make sure that it is actually a iPhone 4 home button and not an iPhone 4S home button.

If you have not changed the plastic part, please make sure that you have placed the home button ribbon cable correctly. On the rear side of the home button, there is a recess that fits the home button ribbon cable outline.

Finally make sure that the ribbon cable is routed correctly and is not snagged or folded anywhere.

Ok so not display! And I'm sure it's a button for iPhone 4. And the ribbon cable is not folded...no we haven't changed that plastic part either, bought a complete button with everything already fitted on to it.

You don't think a metal spacer underneath could work?
