If you have a first gen follow this guide, if you have a 2nd follow this one, and if you have a third gen follow the guide for the second gen.
If you need a battery go here for first gen, and go here if you have a second gen, if you have a third gen then check ebay. Some say you can try a 2nd gen battery in a 3rd gen, but I'm not sure about that one.
