What can cause iPad 2 from connecting to 2.4Ghz network?

I've basically, had to clean up another business by replacing wireless antenna, install screws to mount the LCD, that had been missing, and replaced screen. After replacing the wireless antenna, I've noticed something bizarre. The antenna is only picking up the 5Ghz network, and not seeing 2.4Ghz. What can be the cause? I've done so much research and found nothing. Thanks.

i too had the same issue. i replaced the glass and tore the wifi antenna and power flex by accident. after replacing everything and putting new glass on. no 2.4 ghz wifi or spotty at best. so i opened it back up and tried another antenna same thing. so i thought maybe the wifi logic board was bad like described in the post so i ordered another one and still no fix. after taking another look i soft reset the ipad and waited for it to boot up again and shut the ipad down again immediately. waited for it to turn off and took an exacto knife and cleaned the metal frame were the three contact points meet the frame on the wifi antenna and replaced the antenna again. after all was said and done ipad wifi working better then ever. hope this helps

We don't have the circuit diagram for ipad 2's wifi card, but looking at similar designs, maybe the 2.4G RF components are damaged.

First make sure your wi-fi antenna is not damaged, then take a look at this link, https://discussions.apple.com/thread/578...

If the antenna was damaged, wouldn't it NOT detect any networks?
