Battery and charge port changed, still won't charge?

A couple of weeks ago my phone ran out of battery and wouldn't take a charge. I noticed the charge cable wasn't sitting in the port too well so narrowed it down to a worn out charge port, ordered a new one, fitted fine, still no power.

I then figured it must be the battery so ordered a new one. Fitted fine, powered on once phone was connected to a charger (battery came with approx 75% charge) however, the battery won't charge further than this. I changed the charge port back over to the original and the same happens. Turns on once connected but will not charger, it must be connected properly as it is powers on when plugged in.

I've gone through and checked everything is attached properly.

Any ideas?

Thank you for your time and any help you may be able to offer.

Answer this question I have this problem too

If you have had both of those parts replaced and have tried a known working Apple original charger and charge cable, then this is very likely your problem:

There are definitely folks out there that will repair this issue. I don't personally have the skills to do motherboard repair, and unfortunately don't have anyone to recommend to you either, but I'm sure some Google searching will turn up something for you. Or, perhaps someone else can chime in with a suggestion.

The iphone wont charge because of an issue with the U2 IC chip on the motherboard. To repair this, you need a professional to either reball the chip or replace it (Replacing is always better).

This is why your iphone will not sync or charge even when the battery and charging ports are replaced. This is a very common issue. If you have never soldered micro chips before, I suggest you find someone that can.

Stupidly I only tried one cable but its one that I use on my iPad so I know it works. Worth trying another cable.

Maybe a long shot, but have you checked for any bent pins where the charging port plugs into? Or any corrosion/lint/dirt on the usb cable which plugs into the charge port?

Well as its a brand new charge port it wouldn't have any dirt build up. My old one does look mega worn but the new one looked fine. Just finding it weird that it recognises the port is plugged in to turn the phone on in the first place. Just nothing else after that.

U2 IC is probably damaged. Don't try to replace it if you don't have the skills and equipment.

Don't try to replace it unless you "don't" have the skills ??

At any rate you will need a monoscope. A microscope attached to a monitor. You will also need a micro soldering station. They are expensive. You can't do it at home.
