iPhone4 went swimming, everything works except the cameras

Iphone4 went swimming, everything works except the cameras.

at first the screen was black. my first thought was the cameras are bad.

I bought new cameras (front and rear) from iFixit.com, finished the repair and turned it back on.

now the camera shutter screen comes up but never opens.

could that be connectors/ribbons that need to be replaced?

I would guess that the rear camera is not working because it needs the oxidation reflowed off the camera connector, the connector is at the top of the board and water can eat it easily. You can reset the camera app with general-reset-reset all settings. If you have replaced the cameras and the camera app still shows a shutter screen, then you need board repair.
