Front glass broken, do I need Glass, LCD or Digitizer?
HTC One Mini dropped onto stone floor, front glass is cracked.
Touch functionality still works and the image seems fine behind the broken glass parts.
Now I've asked some online stores in my country about parts, and they said that I would need to replace the whole front (LCD+Digitizer+Front Frame) and offers me a package deal. To me this seems like more than I would need?
I figured it's only the front glass which is broken and needs to be replaced?
So how can I be sure of exactly what parts needs to be replaced? What parts would I need considering that the touch and image is seemingly fine?
Is this a good question?

Hello Jonni, This is a very rare happening and Im not sure if I understand you 100% right as the underneath image is called the screen or (LCD Liquid Crystal Display) and what is on top of that is referred to as just the glass, which is the outermost layer that your actually touching. If the LCD is cracked, thats what you will need to get an you must sacrifice the top glass along with it to get it out as there is a thin layer of clear adhesive that holds the two together and it will just chip and come out in small pieces so you will need both. They sell "do it yourself kits" depending on your skill level, that you can find on ebay that includes everything you need. If not, Its best left into the hands of a professional as its just very really labor intensive if you dont know what your doing. If you do, It can be taken apart completely in under 30 minutes as Ive done a handful over the years myself. I looked up your phone and fortunately for you, the LCD and kit (Heres the link) http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40... is just under $25. I had to do my Samsung S5 and the kit was over $150 so consider yourself lucky. If you choose not to do it yourself, I would highly recommend buying the kit anyway and bringing it to the repair shop as I have heard some stories of people that are not informed getting raked through the coals and getting charged $150-$200 for a $25-$40 kit. I hope this information was somewhat helpful for you and I wish you luck with it. Regards -Marshall

I recently had the same problem, I tried peeling the broken outer layer of broken glass off, it came away easily, underneath it was perfect, I realised that at some stage someone had put a glass screen protector on the phone, so just check this isn’t the same case with your phone. Regards allan
