I would remove the top case and check for any corrosion spots on the logic board then clean them with a soft thootbrush and isopropyl alcohol. If the liquid came inside the MacBook by one of its sides it's better to completely remove the logic board and check for corrosion under it. Yes corrosion could damage the small electronic traces on the logic board silicon susbstrate. It's a chemical processus that's activated by the electric current passing in the logic board and it can take a while before the traces or other electronic components are affected. That's why it's recommended to immediately disconnect all the power sources to any liquid spilled electronic equipment until a clean up is done.

I saw that link already but I dont see where it shows how to take off the top of the computer and clean the keys and such? Am I missing it?

Also, since the spill, my computer appears to be working perfectly. Thank God. However, some of the online research I've done says that it could continue to corrode inside even if acting fine. Is it recommended I take it in to have it serviced to address this? Or do you think I'm fine as is since all is working well?

It helps it you tell us WHICH MacBook you have.

Honestly, Susan, if you can't find the tear down of your machine from the above link, you may not be mechanically inclined enough to attempt this job. A professional might be in order here. I could be wrong, but consider it.
