Flashing Apple Logo, done restore but it comes back.

Got my daughter an iPad Mini 1st gen when they came out, she has used the heck out of it. Then a few months ago it started acting up. You will be using it, then suddenly you get lines all through the screen, and it goes black. Afterwards you get the flashing apple and I have to do a factory restore. The iPad works fine for a time, sometimes a day, sometimes a couple weeks. Then again with the flashing logo. Trying to figure out how to troubleshoot what is wrong and fix it myself. Any ideas please?

Thanks in advance....

Have you tried hard reset before resorting to complete restore to solve?

Once you plug in your Usb Cord right away start counting in a second pace upto 5, on five before the apple logo appears, it usually appears on the 6th second press home button and power button at the same time as you continue the count from earlier, on the seventh count release the power button while continuing holding the home button, on the 9 second count release home button, you should have connect to iTunes logo appear now. Keep it charging under connect to iTunes logo. It should charge enough to where you can power up your iPad with iTunes logo without being plugged to a charger. Plug into the computer to your iTunes and restore to your settings. If after charging you iPad with iTunes logo doesn't power your iPad back to iTunes logo of the Usb cable. Repeat the holding button steps and charging the iPad maybe several times through out the day, so it can't get some charge. And than later in the day plug your iPad to iTunes it should take your iPad to the recovery mode.
