Can I extend the antenna wires for my new WiFi card?

I have a Dell Vostro 1700. It uses a mini card format for the WiFi card. I want to change the WiFi card to a new ac type. The new mini cards are now all actually half-mini cards. I can do this with a mini to half-mini card bracket. The antenna leads that came with the computer now do not reach the new location on the new half-mini card. Are there any solutions for this? Perhaps a small antenna wire extension?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

The antenna cable is a very specialized cable. You can't extend it as there is no back to back connector to splice two cables together and you would also effect the signal with the splice as well.

You will need to locate a newer model which has the same assembly with a longer antenna cable. As far as I can see Dell stopped making this series. So finding a similar part will be tough that will work in your system.

Frankly, you won't get much more performance in your system with the newer board.
