Which internal HDD:s is compatible?

I've tried to understand which HDD:s you can use in xbox one.

Can I upgrade to 7200rpm or is it unnecessary?

Yes you can use 2TB HDD Please click the link below. That is already a 7200rpm drive. This drive came formatted.

those are 3.5 inch drives, not 2.5 inch, which is what the xbox one uses. @%^$$@$.
